Description

Reveille"
Known and loved by all, Reveille is the official mascot of Texas A&M. She has reigned as the First Lady of Aggieland since 1931. Affectionately known as Miss Rev, she is the highest-ranking member of the Corps of Cadets and wears five silver diamonds (the Corps Commander only wears four.) Reveille enjoys all of the privileges due a superior officer. If she decides to rest in a corps member's chair or bed, they must give it up to her. Tradition dictates that if Reveille barks in class, the professor should end class because Miss Rev is bored.

Reveille first made her appearance in January 1931. While traveling back to campus a group of cadets hit a small black and white dog. They picked her up and brought her back to their dorm to care for her. Since pets weren't allowed on campus, the boys carefully concealed her. She blew their cover and earned her name the next morning when she barked at the sound of Reveille, the morning bugle call.
